So... I know everyone is probably going to making these posts... the 2020-is-finally-over-but-at-least-some-good-things-happened posts. However, 2020 has been a really special year for me. Firstly, I published a novel. I can't explain the feeling that washed over me when I held the proof copies in my hand for the first time. Impossibly, Perfectly Normal is (by no means) perfect, but the feedback I received from my amazing supporters, friends, and family was overwhelming. A dream come true in the middle of a pandemic! My only goal for this book was for people to enjoy it. I'm glad I helped my readers escape from the real world for a bit. ( You can order your copy on Amazon here! ) I started writing a 2nd novel. SPOILER: This novel currently has 90,000 words. I have a few more thousand to go before my first draft is complete... but I wrote this amount in 7 months. I took a break from my "English" side to do a little math. My calculations indicate that I

Meet the Cover Girl: the story of the girl who ended up on the cover of “ Impossibly, Perfectly Normal.” Her name is Jordyn! The two of us met as freshmen at Northern Kentucky University. On our very first day of class (Intermediate Spanish I with Dr. Blas Puente, MWF, 8:00 AM), we ended up sitting next to each other and didn’t stop talking from that moment forward. Over the years, we had several other classes together and we sat in the library in our self-created nook where we shared a desk, studied, and procrastinated waaaay too much. Jordyn and I couldn’t possibly predict how much we had in common! We had the same major, a similar upbringing, and an undeniable love for literature, music, church, and Christ. Every conversation between us was a positive one. Since we are both out of college now, both married, and teaching high schoolers several states apart, I’m so thankful our friendship has lasted the way it has. Photogenically speaking, I’ve always admired Jordyn’s physical

My first-ever book signing and author meet-&-greet will be this Sunday, July 12th 2020! This is an open house-style book signing party for the release of my YA novel, "Impossibly, Perfectly Normal." This event is a great chance to come and get your copy personally signed. All are welcome to attend! The book signing and meet & greet will take place under Shelter B (near the pond). We will be following the up-to-date guidelines for COVID-19 and will be social distancing. Feel free to come and go as you please because it is "open house-style" (meaning, I don't expect you to stay for the whole two hours!) Thank you for the support and love!

This is a dream come true! I am blown away by the immediate support that I've received from my friends and family. There has been so much excitement surrounding this project. Thank you, KDP Publishing! I AM A PUBLISHED AUTHOR. I AM A WRITER. Several years ago when I was back in high school, a close friend and mentor of mine (Diana Brown) whispered in my ear and said, "you're going to be an author." I asked her, "How do you know?" She responded, "I just know things." I could tell it was a "God Thing." Don't let anyone ever tell you that something isn't possible. If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish it. This project was a learning curve and a huge step out of my comfort zone; however, we have to experience a little fear in order to grow. I've been writing this story for 6 years. Since receiving a college education (thank you, NKU!), I picked this novel back up and had to completely rewrite the first 10 chapte

It's COVER REVEAL DAY! As an extra special treat, I'm also giving you guys a book description. Enjoy! * * * Thank you for your support! A huge shout-out to Mr. and Mrs. Browning for being the HIGHLIGHT of the cover (in my opinion). You guys are perfect. I held the proof copy in my hands this weekend. I felt the pages between my fingers and smelled that "new book" smell that I love so much. I may have cried but will never admit it. We are close to it being official! But that's not all. An excerpt will be released in a few days! It's becoming so real! See the "Books" tab for more information and a description of the book!
